Brooklyn Blackmore EPK

It seemed like a regular early morning in the small community of Three Fathom Harbour in rural Nova Scotia…but a major awakening was about to occur for a very young Brooklyn Blackmore. The innocent three year old saw Natalie MacMaster performing on ‘Breakfast Television’ and immediately connected with the virtuoso’s musical expression. She begged her parents for a fiddle and when she was finally old enough, she got one for her FOURTH birthday.

It may have snowed on the day of her first lesson but that wasn’t going to hold Brooklyn back, she found her calling and continued to nurture it through piano lessons, school musicals, vocal choirs and even joined a competitive dance team.

Brooklyn continued to follow her dream all the way to graduating the NSCC Music Arts program in 2018 and set off on her pursuit of a career in music. Although she was surrounded with love and support and by people who wanted her to succeed, she unfortunately experienced the tragedy of sexual assault. Instead of letting this bring her down, she decided to use her platform to empower other women who may have gone through the same thing. That’s when her single “Been There Too” came to life. Writing and recording this song was cathartic for her, but it also showed her that her gift is much deeper than just entertainment and how it can be used to help others on a scale that is beyond what even she herself could fathom.

Her sound is influenced by the old-school mystical style of Stevie Nicks and modern artists like Miley Cyrus. An award-winning performer and recording artist, Blackmore has been named Female Vocalist and Entertainer of the Year at the North American Country Music Association Awards and was the winner of the Global Country Star Search. Brooklyn’s debut album, Get a Little Crazy, was nominated for Country Recording of the Year at ECMA and Country Recording of the Year and New Artist Recording of the year at NSMW, and her music video “Great Minds Drink Alike” has been nominated for Fan’s Choice Video of the Year at ECMA 2024.
